Watching Liverpool recently I couldn’t help but conclude that having Gerrard in the team is like having an extra man. I mean he must be very friendly with alot of referees to get the decisions he does, it seems he turns the referees into their 12th man. How can such a great player perform like he did last night to con the penalty. He is a great player but he seems to be never far away from controversial decisions !!!

With City’s new found wealth I cannot see them sticking with Mark Hughes next term. Hughes was the appointment of the previous regime and so what always happens in cases like this the owners will want their own man. In defence of Hughes he has been a reasonably successful manager in his time but he is not up there with the elite corps of Internationally known managers and can he attract the world stars the new owners will want?? If you are investing millions you will want the best to come to City and the best will be attracted by the best managers ( plus money of course).

Which brings me around to Mourinhio. Wouldn’t he just love to beat Chelsea at their own game? Wouldn’t he want to be top dog in the Premiership again and wouldn’t he just love to come back to the English game( yes…he has just said so).

So a natural fit at the end of this season…Hughes will go …Mourinhio will be enticed to leave Inter and join the Blue revolution. Just watch this space.

There is just one little problem which can scupper my theory…what happens if SAF decides to end it all next May just across the city and Man United???  What will he do then??

What’s up with Ronaldo….everytime i have seen him this season he doesn’t look happy even when he scored. I think he is like a spoilt child who has not got his own way!!  With this credit crunch now,United would be lucky to get half the 80 mill they could have got last summer.
